Dr. Connie's Tips to de-stress and live more fully in the present:

1. First and foremost breathe your stress away by taking deep belly breaths.

2. Be mindful to take care of your health through proper nutrition. Pay attention to what you eat and why. We want to eat out of physical hunger, not emotional hunger. Focus your attention on eating mindfully, not quickly or mindlessly.

3. Go to bed fifteen minutes earlier and awaken fifteen minutes earlier and get in touch with the breath before jumping out of bed.

4. Listen to the signals of your body: he/she will let you know how you are feeling today. Take a few moments to really listen and hear what your body is telling you.

5. Each day take a few moments to check in with yourself and practice non-doing. We are good at being human "doings" rather than human "beings".

6. Exercise mindfully your way. Incorporate some movement that you enjoy and that feels good to you.

7. Drink green tea and limit your caffeine and alcohol consumption.

8. Stay current on health preventions and screenings.

9. Practice relaxation techniques like meditation, guided imagery, tai chi, massage, yoga, progressive muscle relaxation and deep belly breathing.

10. Bring laughter and humor into your daily life.
